1. About this policy

This website is operated by Astra Capital Asset Management Pty Ltd (ACN 627 079 574) and Astra Capital Asset Management (Singapore) Pte Ltd (UEN 202605889H) (together, "Astra Capital," "we," "us," or "our"). Astra Capital Licensing & Compliance Pty Ltd (ACN 683 665 296) holds Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) 700095 and is referenced separately where relevant to regulated activity.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, hold and disclose personal information in connection with this website and our dealings with you. It is intended to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This website does not sell products, process payments, or handle transactions of any kind. It is an informational and corporate website for a private equity and asset management firm. Accordingly, this policy does not cover — and we do not collect — payment card details, shipping information, purchase history, or similar transactional data.

2. Personal information we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly to us, including through:

  • Our contact form — name, organisation, email address, enquiry type, and the content of your message.

  • Our Perspectives Report / Insights subscription — email address, and any name provided.

  • Direct correspondence — where you email or otherwise contact us directly.

We may also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit this website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and general usage data (e.g. pages visited). This website is built and hosted on Shopify, and we use Shopify's built-in tools only — we do not use any separate third-party email, CRM, or analytics platform.

We do not collect financial account information, payment details, or any information relating to a purchase or transaction, as no such functionality exists on this website.

3. How we use your personal information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form;

  • Provide our Perspectives Report and related insights to subscribers who have opted in;

  • Maintain and manage our relationship with investors, intermediaries, founders, and other business contacts;

  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including those arising under our AFSL; and

  • Protect the security and integrity of this website.

We do not use your personal information for retail advertising, cross-merchant targeting, or any form of behavioural advertising network. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. How we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Shopify Inc., which hosts this website and provides the platform's built-in contact form and email functionality, and processes personal information on our behalf accordingly;

  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting, compliance) where necessary;

  • Regulators or government authorities where required by law, including in connection with our obligations as an Australian Financial Services Licensee; and

  • A prospective acquirer or successor in the event of a corporate transaction involving Astra Capital.

We do not disclose personal information to marketing partners or advertising networks, and we do not participate in cross-merchant data sharing of the kind associated with e-commerce advertising platforms.

5. Overseas disclosure

As this website operates on Shopify's platform, personal information collected through it is likely to be stored and processed on servers located outside Australia, including in Canada and/or the United States. By submitting personal information through this website, you acknowledge that it may be handled overseas in this way.

Taking a conservative approach, we treat this as an overseas disclosure for the purposes of APP 8.

6. Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Given the limited personal information collected through this website (contact form and Perspectives Report subscription only), we retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary — generally, for the duration of our relationship with you plus a reasonable period afterward, or until you unsubscribe or request deletion, whichever is earlier.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you;

  • Request correction of personal information you believe is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete;

  • Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information; and

  • Unsubscribe from our Perspectives Report or other communications at any time, using the unsubscribe option provided in those communications.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 10 below. We may need to verify your identity before actioning your request. We will respond within a reasonable period as required under the Privacy Act.

8. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below. We will investigate and respond to your complaint within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the independent regulator for privacy complaints in Australia: Website: oaic.gov.au

Separately, if your complaint relates to our financial services (rather than the handling of your personal information specifically), you may be able to raise it with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) — see our Terms of Use for details.

9. Children's information

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
